The Family History Library is the largest genealogical library in the world with billions of records. The records contain the names of more than 3 billion deceased people from over 110 countries including the United States, Canada, and countries in the British Isles, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.

The Family History Library has an extensive collection of records dating from 707 AD to 2012, with the majority of records about persons who lived before 1930. The collections include the following record types:
